The Numbers On Carnotaurus! Image Courtesy of Flickr User Chris J. Let’s take a look at the numbers though and see just what a formidable predator Carnotaurus really was. No one is quite sure what this skull structure meant for feeding time for this beast. The most unique feature of this late Cretaceous was its skull, aside from the horns that adorned it, Carnotaurus had a very robust skull that was complimented with a slender jaw. While those figures may seem large, in comparison to the much more popular Tyrannosaurus Rex at 20 feet tall and weighing just shy of 16,000 lbs, Carnotaurus was something of a shrimp. Researchers believe that this horned carnivore of the late Cretaceous stood at just shy of 10 feet tall and weighed in at 4,500 lbs. Carnotaurus was actually a much smaller dinosaur that most amateur dinosaur lovers would believe.
